    Humly are recruiting an enthusiastic and reliable Teaching Assistant to support pupils in upper Key Stage 2 at a primary school in Carlisle from September. This part-time role is focused on Year 5 and Year 6 pupils, supporting them with their learning as they work through more advanced curriculum content and prepare for the expectations of their final years in primary school.

    You'll be working every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday throughout the Autumn term, with potential for the role to continue further. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or education professional who is confident supporting older primary pupils and wants regular school-based work in Carlisle.

    Role Details

    • Part-time Teaching Assistant role in a Carlisle primary school

    • Supporting upper Key Stage 2 pupils

    • Mainly working with Year 5 and Year 6

    • Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday every week

    • Autumn term initially, with potential to extend

    • Working alongside class teachers and the wider school team

    What You'll Be Doing

    • Supporting Year 5 and Year 6 pupils with their day-to-day learning

    • Helping pupils access more advanced Key Stage 2 curriculum content

    • Providing additional support to pupils who need extra guidance

    • Encouraging pupils to develop confidence, independence and positive learning habits

    • Supporting classroom activities and small group work

    • Helping pupils stay focused and engaged throughout lessons

    • Working closely with teachers to support learning and classroom routines

    • Providing a calm, positive and consistent presence in the classroom

    You'll Be a Good Fit If You...

    • Have experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or in a similar education role

    • Have recent experience working with primary-aged children, particularly KS2 pupils

    • Are confident supporting Year 5 and Year 6 pupils

    • Understand the needs of pupils approaching the end of primary school

    • Can build positive relationships with pupils and staff

    • Are reliable and available every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday

    • Have a patient, encouraging and professional approach

    • Are keen to secure regular school-based work from September
