Teaching Assistant / SEN Learning Support Assistant - Year 1 - Carlisle - Full Time
Humly are recruiting a patient and nurturing Teaching Assistant / SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a primary school in Carlisle from mid-September. This full-time role is based within a Year 1 classroom, providing general classroom support alongside targeted assistance for pupils with additional educational needs throughout the remainder of the Autumn term.
This Year 1 Teaching Assistant role would suit an experienced Teaching Assistant, SEN Learning Support Assistant or education professional who understands the importance of patience, consistency and positive relationships when supporting young learners. You'll help pupils settle into Key Stage 1, build confidence in the classroom and access their learning, with potential for the role to extend further.

What You'll Be Doing
Providing general classroom support within a Year 1 setting
Supporting pupils with additional educational needs on a targeted basis
Helping young learners transition confidently into Key Stage 1
Supporting pupils with classroom activities and learning tasks
Encouraging independence, confidence and positive learning behaviours
Providing 1:1 or small group support where required
Helping pupils stay engaged and focused during lessons
Following individual support strategies and guidance from the school
Working closely with the class teacher and wider school team
Creating a calm, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment
You'll Be a Good Fit If You...
Have experience as a Teaching Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or in a similar education role
Have recent experience working with primary-aged children
Are confident supporting pupils with additional educational needs
Understand the needs of children transitioning into Key Stage 1
Have a patient, caring and nurturing approach
Can build positive relationships with young pupils
Are adaptable and confident working within a busy Year 1 classroom
Are reliable and available for full-time work from mid-September
